Continuing a Family Tradition
Morris McLachlan
Waskesiu Marina Adventure Centre, Hanging Heart Lakes & Narrows Marina General Manager
The McLachlan family has been connected to PANP since 1946 and we are privileged to operate the three marina sites in this beautiful park. The McLachlan name has been a part of Prince Albert National Parks heritage for well over fifty years. Eldon McLachlan was one of the founding members of the Waskesiu Chamber of Commerce and operated a family business “Waskesiu Park Services” in the park from 1946 to 1976. This business ranged from taking care of the old “shack tents” to the selling of block ice cut from Waskesiu Lake. Among the family members involved was Morris McLachlan. In 1999 Morris acquired the operation of providing marina services for PANP. Waskesiu Lake Marinas are carrying on the McLachlan family tradition. Morris’ brother, Marvin, daughters, Hazel and Sarah, and nephews, Mike, Liam, Chad and nieces Amy and Fern have all worked for the Marina, and the rest of the family is always lending its support. Morris is also actively involved in his other true passion, playing music. Morris plays bass for his nephew Gaberial Penna, a prolific singer song writer. You can find out more about Gabe Penna and the Rising by going to GabePenna.com. While you are visiting our beautiful town site Morris McLachlan and the Waskesiu Marina staff invite you and your group to include one of our unique excursions in your itinerary. |
