As a member of our front line staff you will learn to test your limits, work as part of a team, and share the natural wonders of Prince Albert National Park with guests from around the world. We all work to provide that “WOW” factor to our guests in this unique and special piece of Saskatchewan by providing excellent customer service to enhance their experience..

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Enthusiastic, motivated with excellent public relations.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Pleasure craft operators Card would be an asset, not mandatory.
  • Boating experience an asset, not  mandatory
  • Basic work term early May 15 or June 26 –  to September 4th and/or mid-September.
  • 34-40 hrs /week , dependent upon  weather and visitation
  • Available to work weekends and statutory holidays
  • Experience in delivering excellent customer service.
  • Experience with computers, point of sale systems
  • Able to work in variable weather conditions, to bend, stoop, stand for extended periods of time, able to lift, push, carry 50-75 lbs.

Training Provided – Learn New Skills

  • Anticipate/respond to client needs
  • Able to work independently, together with a team.
  • Providing marina services;
    • Watercraft rentals, moorage and storage
    • Variety of retail sales
    • Issuing fishing permits
    • Fueling of boats
    • Shuttle service between parking lots to boats
    • Facility cleaning,  minor maintenance
    • Assisting stranded boaters
    • Aware and mindful of safety procedures
    • Learn about Prince Albert National Park
    • Boat operation skills
    • Driving/backing up boats & trailers
    • Delivering tours & programs in a memorable way
    • Organize and assist with special events.
   

The Small Details

Training – detailed training will be provided the first week when you start work. It will consist of hands on training and also job shadowing if applicable.

Uniforms – You will be provided with uniforms consisting of T-shirts with the Marina logo plus ball caps.  Guidelines are in place for other outerwear. If hired we will discuss the outerwear, colours, style, etc.

Wage – You will be paid by direct deposit on a bi-weekly basis. Base wage is $12/hr with an end of season bonus of $2/hr for all hours worked excluding overtime hours.

Hours of work – hours will range from 34 to 40 hrs per week.  Marina operations can be slower in the months of May and June and less hours will be worked.  Once July and August arrive it increases to 40 hr per week and often overtime is applicable.  Overtime is paid according to the Saskatchewan Labour Standards.

Accommodations – on site at the Main Marina are a two bedroom and a three bedroom residence.  These fixed roof accommodations are shared with other Marina staff.  Each building is furnished, complete kitchen with dishes, utensils and a small deck area with BBQ provided.  No rent is taken but we ask that upon departure the buildings are left in the same clean condition as when you moved into them.  The Marina also provides three (3) 5th wheel trailers with hookups of power, water and sewer.  You would need to bring bedding, towels and your personal belongings.
