MORRIS AND SUE MCLACHLAN,
WASKESIU MARINA ADVENTURE CENTRE
“The operation of Waskesiu Marina Adventure Centre in Prince Albert National Park (PANP) is truly a family affair. Morris and Sue McLachlan acquired the business in 1999. With the support of their daughters, grandchildren, and other relatives, they have grown it to be the largest inland marina
facility in Western Canada. With more than 300 boat slips, state-of-the-art infrastructure and exceptional customer service, this business staple within the Waskesiu community is like no other in Saskatchewan. With ties to the national park for five generations, the McLachlan’s connection to PANP runs deep. Sue worked for Parks Canada for 30 years and spent her childhood summers at the lake, while Morris’ family has owned various enterprises in the park since 1946.”

TOURISM SASKATCHEAN AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE

The Waskesiu Marina Adventure Centre has been recognised by Sask Tourism by being a finalist in their Awards of Excellence for Business of the Year Under 20 employees for 2013, 14, 15, 16 and 2017. Lead guide Natalie Matheson was awarded Tourism Employee of the Year in 2014 and was a finalist for the Canadian Tourism Commission in 2014 for the same award. Matt Growden was a finalist in 2017 for Sask Tourism’s Employee of the Year.

An accurate measure of a business is by the people that work there. The Waskesiu Marina Adventure Centre works very hard to create a culture of “family” and has been rewarded year after year with enthusiastic, energetic, and exceptional employees. They have always worked very hard to provide excellent customer service. Visitors to the marina receive an experience like no other marina in the province. You will realize what a special place Waskesiu and PANP are while enjoying the pristine water and wildlife viewing opportunities.
